I agree with your last comment. I don't have the time to track it; they don't have the time to track it. But I would be furious at a magazine chastizing me over my un-intentional investments. The DNA genome has been mapped! There is no "relationship" gene, or "caring" gene, etc., that is female specific. Absent nature, we must turn to nurture. Women are told from infancy that we are more concerned with relationships. However, as I mentioned before, this is starting to ameliorate. That's why we are seeing dramatic increases in female violent crimes, drinking, drug abuse, etc. The younger girls have been taught they can act however they wish.
Have you heard of the tribe in Africa that had no contact with the rest of the world until it was discovered in the 70s or 80s (may have my time incorrect)? The women are the head of household, which makes perfect sense to them. Men can not reproduce; they can not sustain the tribe, therefore, they do not deserve the power. The women hunt while the men stay home and tend to the children. The women complain that the men are gossipers and demand too much of their time, and the men complain that they do not get enough affection from their wives and that their wives do not value their contributions.

Wow Daniel, I am sorry. JWs and most other religions do attact people with low self esteem. And those types of personalities do gravitate to the wrong men and institutions. The only thing you can do is be supportive. She must fill the black hole inside her. It will be difficult because accomplishment builds self-esteem, but people aren't encourage to accomplish in the organization.
Many sisters are very bitter towards me. They have done everything right, didn't go to school, pioneered, married, didn't have kids and they are miserable. They see me, who broke ALL the rules, and I live a very satisfying, balanced life. Our service overseer approached my husband and I at a recent meeting. He greeted us; we asked how he was doing...surviving, you know how it is, just surviving. He turned to me and asked how I was doing; I replied,' I'm thriving." He didn't know what to say, so he just walked away.
But, many of the sisters make (or attempt to make ) viscious comments to me. It must be very frustrating for the 'good' girls. Why don't you two take an evening class at a local community college?

I suspect there are more women. I can not verify this statement for you, but an ex-Bethelite friend said that a Bethelite brother put the ratio at about 1 male to 10 females.
I disagree with the prior posts regarding emotion. Throughout history, women have led the most hopeless lives; therefore, hapiness in an afterlife is all they have. Men have had the luxury of pursuing other endeavors. I suspect as gender opportunities balance, women will become much less interested in religion.
And, if you consider the hugh Muslim world, it is hardly a bastion of male logic. But again, there is an element of hopelessness there also.

Thank you for making my point. You do not necessarily know what companies a trust manager has invested in. And, if you have a good manager, the stocks should change on a DAILY basis. It would be a nightmare to try to track my own...just not an issue with me.

I am with Rebel8. I do not feel it as black/white or as scandalous as some of you, but I agree it's not lying ( perhaps an oversimplification). I personally do not have an issue with it. If it is a 3rd party trust account, that trust account more than likely has a trust manager who invests the trust money. If it is invested in a large fund, again, you have no control over what stocks the fund manager chooses. That makes the control issue 3rd party and once removed...just not an issue with me.
I think people are responding to the WTBTS's general arrogance and judgemental attitude, and for that, they are 'reaping what they've sown'.

Wow Crumpet! Bad info...no wonder you were confused. As far as I can remember, "community standard" was the official issue. I have heard of individuals linking the crossdressing issue, but I do not know if there was anything "offically" printed. The whole crossdressing thing doesn't hold water; when that scripture was written, men wore dresses and women wore (harem)pants!!!
However, I would LOVE to see that enforced...make the brothers wear dresses!!!!!
